I still believe that there is no discussion, he has a prodigious bat, he is a star pitcher, he also steals bases as the fastest. His MVP simply cannot have a discussion.

If Shohei doesn't get MVP this year, that would be a MAJOR black mark on MLB. I watch the games/videos and one thing I can say without a doubt, he has united "ALL Baseball Fans" more than any other player I can remember in the last 30 years. Considering the greats that played during that time...Ripken, Griffey, Jeter, etc. that is truly saying something. Say what you want but he is single handedly building interest back into the game. I can only imagine it being something along the lines of Ruth during that era.

If he had 30 homeruns with 9-2 record with an ERA of 3.30 he would be MVP. Oh wait he actually has 45 homeruns atm, 9-2 record with an ERA of 3.29, over 20 stolen base. Clear cut MVP and not even close.
