Ferrofluid inspired abilities is something I didn't expect in any game but also is one of the coolest concepts I've seen in a while. All around an amazing looking legend.

Usually new apex seasons end of feeling really simple and uninventive compared to the likes of other games but I can never complain when its a new map season. Easily my favorite part of new seasons when there is one. Can't wait to play it!

1.The new season looks AMAZING, the battle pass has me excited, the new map looks very good, but I have some criticism. I like that catalyst is unique, I do, but I think her kit is underwhelming. passive seems like a waste, the tactical have the passive added to it. Anything touching the resin pad could be reinforced, like doors, legend defensive abilities, and heck, maybe even tridents.
Her initial leaked abilities had more potential. What you just read was a condensed version.
I did write more below.
Possible tactical changes:
a) being shot on the ground, & while still a slowing pad, reinforcing anything touching it, or by
b)being shot onto the structure like spider man's webs.
( ALL legend placeable abilities like Watson gen, Revenant Totem get reinforced for both a) & b)) .
Her ultimate blocking scans is good, but this is the buff many people have wanted for Bangalore's smokes, this would counter the scan meta.
2. Her initial leaked Abilities seemed WAY more interesting,
Tactical: ferrofluid ramp, could be built on any floor surface and on other ramps (yes, like Fortnite,)
if the ramp could stick to walls, that would give Catalyst movement 'options' like climbing.
Her leaked ultimate, was a resin/ferrofluid pillar that went straight up below her feat.
if your teammates and/or enemies could climb this pillar to the top by actually climbing on it, and it had a short cool down (60 seconds like Octane Pad)

Idk exactly what her "traps" do but to me it looks like they slow and drain shield because of the electric effect you gain when you hit them. It also makes sense because ferrofluid is magnetic.

I can see Catalyst working extremely well with other defensive legends. Caustic can trap people indoors with gas while Catalyst reinforces the doors, and then Wattson/ Rampart can further fortify the exit with their fences or walls. Reinforcing the door and slowing down enemies with her resin shot can also buy time for Newcastle to pull in a teammate and reset before getting rushed.

All the other gameplay trailers had cinematography that showed the maps and skins and spotlighted the new legend without it being overwhelming, this one..oof.
It’s hard to look at the new areas with the screen effects, the zooms, the slow motion, the magnification/focus put on skins on legends and guns, all in one shot; it feels like instead of the focus of this new season being a new legend, the legend just got mixed into the background fights

The new map looks amazing. Like a mix of the nature of Storm Point with the buildings from Olympus. I love how colorful and how much variety there is. I wasn't hyped before but I am now! However one thing i am worried about is that with no balloon towers, Valk will still be meta on this map again.

Battlepass skins look sick, stickers will probably be alright, new map looks super cool and fun to play around big POI's, as long as nerfs come around to the scout and charge rifle, we might be looking at the best Apex Season in a long time.
