Seeing them animated so simply... it's the most human they've felt this whole time. Humanizing fictional characters is difficult enough, but can we emotionally connect with criminals? Murderers? Maybe not. But inferiority complexes are relatable. A desperate need to be SEEN is common. Natural even.

…となると、ミルグラムが開始したのが2020年、2020年時点でハルカくんの年齢は、ご存命であれば23歳のはずなんだけど、本人は17歳って言ってるんだよね。
もしかして、ミルグラム内には明確な年月の概念がなくて、かつ、囚人達はみんなそれぞれ違う時代から連れて来られてる…というか、「死んだ時」の年齢で連れて来られてるんじゃないか…？

1997年新潟県長岡市に生まれる。
櫻井遥は幼少期より、常に他人より少し成長が遅れていた。
過保護の両親は我が子の育ちの遅さを認めることが出来ず、彼のペースに合わせた教育を行わなかった。
彼は同年代について行くことが出来ず、差は開く一方となり、15歳になった時点でまともに漢字を読むことすら出来ない状態だった。
その頃には親の心は折れ、過保護から無関心にシフトする。
以降は親にとって遥は居ないものとされた。
遥は親の関心を引くために問題行動を起こし続けるが、親の興味が彼に戻ってくることは無かった。

遥はいつからか隠れて小動物を殺すようになる。虫を殺し、ネズミを殺し、野良猫を殺し、野良犬を殺した。
自分より劣った生命が存在すると確認できるようで安心した。
エスカレートした遥は飼い犬や飼い猫を殺すようになる。
翌日、愛する生命が唐突に失われ泣き叫ぶ他人を見て、彼は初めて世界と繋がっているという感動を知る。

その後、近所の警備体制は強くなり、遥の稚拙な犯行はすぐに明らかとなった。
警察に捕まり、きつく問い詰められる中、自分に向けられる興味関心に遥は強い興奮を覚える。
自分のために呼び出された親の顔を見て、興奮は絶頂に達し、彼は失神してしまった。

釈放されたその日に、遥は人を殺した。自分より明らかに無力で小さな子供だった。
花火大会の日、親からはぐれた子供を狙った。
死体を雑に隠しながら、遥は泣く。
「この子はきっと自分より価値のある人生だっただろう」
「きっと自分より輝かしい未来が待っていただろう」
「なんで僕はこうなってしまったんだろう？」

遥はそれから毎晩泣いて、悔いた。殺した子供の未来を想い、喉をかきむしる。
気がつけば2人目の子供の首を絞めていた。

goddammit i genuinely feel like muu actually cared about haruka now. i keep forgetting shes literally younger than him and is very sheltered and has never known anything other than getting what she wants. she probably has no idea how to deal with these feelings of someone literally dying for her for basically no reason and is going to be defensive about it out of fear

シドウさんとマヒルちゃんのもきっと来るんだろうけど、アマネちゃんにやられるシドウさんと、治療を受けられなくて、どんどん衰弱していくマヒルさんの姿を想像したらもうツライわ…

The lore explain at the end was SO SATISFYING, at least we get a proper explanation of what his crime was without having to guess anymore (well bye bye to my murdering the brother and the love interest theory I guess 🧍‍♂️)

Beautifully drawn and acted. Felt raw and intense. The lack of background noise save for faded white noise really helped set the atmosphere. The fact that there wasn't a lot of movement was a brilliant choice; it created a sense of finality within the scene and a sense of "reality" -- that is to say, it felt very much like we (the viewer) were witness to an awful and tragic ending. Very well done as always, MILGRAM team!

なんだろう……考察の答え合わせができるのは嬉しいけど、辛すぎる。
あと、「花火大会」の要素が弱肉共食にあったりとか、「警備が強くなる」とかの要素が全知全悩にあったりとか、本当に作り込まれたMVだったんだな…って感じる。凄すぎるよミルグラム……

It's wild to me that people still talk about the characters in the innocent/guilty kind of light. I think MILGRAM's emphasis on innocent/guilty acts as a diversion to prevent people from making decisions for the survival of the characters, despite MILGRAM dropping hints on how to vote to keep everyone (or the characters you like) safe.

edit: I feel like there's probably an ideal route where everyone survives by voting specifically for their survival (not all inno), but there's probably a less-than-ideal route where you vote everyone guilty so everyone survives but they're mentally messed up.

最期に握りしめていたのは､ムウから貰ったピンではなく､母親から貰ったペンダントだった事､最期に呼ぶのが母親なのも「ただ母親に見てもらいたかった」ただそれだけなんだよね…
