I'm totally speechless, I was on the edge of my seat the whole episode! Some of the scenes of this episode really has cinematic aspects. I really loved how varallon was portrayed here, he's as vile and vicious as he looks! Blazar separating from Gento to save his life was heartbreaking. I can't wait to see how SKaRD will defy the odds against the third wave next week. This is the finale, go SKaRD, go Ultraman!

That episode was nothing short of AMAZING. Mega props to the acting, especially to Gento's wife. Her facade of strength crumbling as soon as he walked out the door was absolutely gut-wrenching, and Blazar severing their pact to save Gento was just a delicious twist of the knife. This series is amazing and I'm so happy to have this as my gateway into Ultra.

This episode was indeed great tho, especially with how they can catch the perfect vibes of How Despair should be, and Blazar Separates from Gento was The Turning Point for this whole mess and destruction that caused by Valaron tho... A Masterpiece for sure ✨


Can't wait for the next Final Battle tho, and we could see how Blazar would win against Valaron and Finish him once and For all, Let's gooo Blazar and Gento 🔥🔥💥

Some thoughts:

This episode was worth the wait. It really feels like the proper build-up to the finale.

Varallon is, quite literally, the bomb. He makes such a strong impression by blowing a huge hole in the moon. I had been skeptical about his less-than-impressive design, but that huge explosion alone convinced me

4:22 of course this guy would ruin everything, even if Retsu ended up saving the diary later on

5:32 somehow I think it's meta commentary from Taguchi again

Once again, the subtle storytelling from Blazar is great. From the way the SKaRD members take a step forward at 6:51 to the call-back to ep 1 at 7:38, everything is great about this scene

8:15 of course Gento would try to do things on his own. But really, this is the kind of plot point that can only happen when the captain is the host

8:51 wait is that Taguchi in the background?

10:49 Retsu the true MVP of the show. But when will we finally get to see him interact with a dog on-screen, since his character bio said he likes dogs?

You know, it could've been really easy for Emi to just hack into Earth Garon's systems, so for her to try talking to Earthy for info is really important. It's such a powerful moment, and tied to the show's main theme as well

The launch sequence is all kinds of cool. While in the past shows more than one unit would've been launched into space, here they make the most of this one unit being launched

And of course, Dobashi has to show up to watch. Man hasn't forgotten about his days as the head of a certain museum, too, since he's channelling that evil aura

19:08 I knew it wouldn't be that easy. But somehow I think Emi thought ahead and already sent the files to that amateur astronomer from last episode

20:58 that's a good justification for close combat, and it really shows Varallon's deserving of being a final boss.

22:01 I was expecting to make a "some day you just can't get rid of a bomb" joke when I saw the promo pics of the toy, but my jaw dropped when I saw it actually happen. One bomb could disable Earth Garon, and Varallon can spam it over and over again? That's really overpowered

23:06 the slower animation for the Brace looks cool. It reminds me of Ultraman 80's title card too

The moment I saw 23:41, I knew the finale was going to be a reference to Seven, except unlike Pandon, Varallon's legit powerful. Also, the sounds of crystals shattering at 24:05 makes me think Varallon's damaging Blazar's stone in some way

Come to think of it, where's Firdran? You'd expect him to show up to help. Then again, he's made of fire, and Varallon's a bomber kaiju

24:55 don't let the moon going out of orbit distract you from the fact that Earth Garon has his swirly eyes

25:00 did Blazar just push the freaking moon back into orbit, all by himself? Excellent Gundam reference aside, that's definitely on the level of Darrgon lifting Zaragas with one finger while human-sized

Blazar has separated Gento from himself, and Varallon's headed towards Earth. It's as desperate as a penultimate episode should be. Can't wait to be emotionally destroyed next week

Ultraman Blazar is a phenomenal series. Personally I think the potential of this show is limited by the episode numbers. I won't mind if they make second season, regardless of whatever comes in future I'll still be with Ultraman😊

This episode portrayed how dreadfully resourceful Varallon is, crashing on the moon, it went to the far side and started planting his tail bombs on the surface attempting to derail the moon from orbit and cause it to collide onto Earth and along with his energy bursts he even crushed Earth Garon Max (Mod 4 since it's the culmination of all the mods) and Blazar with his tail bombs. I think one way to take on Varallon is toss his own bombs back at him. His abilities are simple enough and then the real shocker is how he grabbed Blazar and absorbed his energy and it physically enhanced him. Varallon might not have looked like your Ultraman king of destruction kaiju before for example the physical qualities on Kaos Darkness and Destrudo who are crazy and demonic looking, but now he not only has the strength of a king of destruction kaiju he now even has the physical qualities of a King of Destruction kaiju. He's the Interplanetary Nuke Kaiju: Doom Varallon.

There are a lot of highlights this episode, the moment Skard sees for themselves what Varallon was capable of after blowing a massive crater on the moon's surface and that includes the tense scene when Gento explains the suicide mission they have been sent into by Command to eliminate Varallon with Gento passively giving his team the chance to back out which they refused. One huge highlight is Blazar straight up telling Gento to not transform due to his severe fatigue that puts his life at risk because it's quite rare for an Ultra to object to a call for action for the sake of their human partner's wellbeing. Then there is Emi who once again risking everything to save her friends pleading Earthy to tell her what else remains of the classified info on V-99 which Earthy doesn't do but instead gives it to her to find out until she was ceased by command.

So former Commander Haruno Retsu has Dr. Aobe's diary at his possession after former Director Dobashi tried and failed to burn it. I wonder what he would find in there that Dobashi couldn't find. In a desperate struggle to stop the moon from crashing Earth, Blazar pushes it back right before he separates himself from Gento to get him back into the Earth Garon while he takes the brunt of an explosion from Varallon's bombs. Blazar's body drifts near broken pieces of the moon lifeless while a newly evolved Doom Varallon rides on a floating piece of moon debris towards Earth to destroy it directly.

This episode may be the best so far. Their was themes, as far as I know, never explored before. Like Blazar possibly being toxic to Gento and how Gento's health effected Blazar in the fight (Blazar started the battle in "flashing red light" health). Also, how the bond between Gento & Blazar isn't permenent like previous Ultras and Blazar sacrificed his bond with Gento in order to save SkArd & the Earth. In the end, it looks like Blazar is going to become one of my favorites along with Orb and Geed.

This is so engaging, dramatic & far better than anything made by marvel, it is a better suicide squad story than suicide squad was. I love that Varallon is a Planetary Assault Cyborg Gigan as well. Blazar has been great since episode 1.

An amazing episode! So many comments have covered some great highlights, I thought I would mention how powerful the scene of Gento saying goodbye to his wife was. I got the feeling she knew he was going and possibly not coming back and putting on a smile that started to crumble after he left. I also liked the call back to the first episode when Gento told everyone one last order, to come back alive, which is what he told his men before the drop. Loved the subtle detail of the bodyguard visiting the general, Gento passing him and all we see is his back and earlier from a distance, but it silently explains how the general has the partially burned diary.

On a completely different note, I finally realized the voice narrating the movie is Earthy's.

Anyway, great episode as so many have already stated, just adding my own tidbits.

Best episode yet! I'm on the edge of my seat! it's hard to believe the final episode is coming soon. Genuinely excited to see the conclusion! Hopefully Tsuburaya has a plan in place to allow us fans in the west to have an opportunity to see the movie when it comes out! A limited theatrical release in the US or perhaps on a streaming service we have access to would be great!

For an Ultraman to alter the orbit of a celestial body using nothing but his bare hands, Blazar has proven to be among the physically strongest Ultras, even if he lacks the musculature of Power Type or Thunder Breastar. Loved how they twisted the trope of Ultraman traditionally being stronger in space, but here for Blazar, his color timer went off right at the start, in space combat! Star of the show though, has to be Gento's wife. Relationships between couples are rarely explored in Ultraman but there was just so much depth in the silences. It's going to be sad to say goodbye to this crew, especially since it only feels like 15 episodes into a traditional 50 episode series like they used to make... Thank you for everything, Blazar!

V99 used Varallon to directly invade earth, but because of Tanagular shot it down making it crashed to the moon, instead of just roaming in the moon aimlessly because the plan failed Varallon improvised and adapt to the situation by pushing the moon out of orbit to hit earth Majora's Mask style.

Varallon is a celestial level threat that it can just alter the orbit of the moon. As far as I can remember, the only other monster that has those level of threat shown on screen is Gran-Sphere from Ultraman Dyna where it just straight up consume planets.

Ultraman Blazar is definitely top 1 on my new gen show ranking, I like that they heavily focused more on the story, and I also love how they make the show different from it's predecessor in the new generation.

1 The way Blazer is losing is Strength reminds me of Ultraseven losing his power cause he couldn't fight any longer.
2 The way Varallon, Bazanga, and Gebalga came on Earth Directions reminds me of C.O.V., Pazuzu, to wipe out the entire human race.
