Now and Then's eventful journey to fruition took place over five decades and is the product of conversations and collaborations between the four Beatles that go on to this day. The long mythologised John Lennon demo was first worked on in February 1995 by Paul, George and Ringo as part of The Beatles Anthology project but it remained unfinished, partly because of the impossible technological challenges involved in working with the vocal John had recorded on tape in the 1970s. For years it looked like the song could never be completed. But in 2022 there was a stroke of serendipity. A software system developed by Peter Jackson and his team, used throughout the production of the documentary series Get Back, finally opened the way for the uncoupling of John’s vocal from his piano part. As a result, the original recording could be brought to life and worked on anew with contributions from all four Beatles. This remarkable story of musical archaeology reflects The Beatles’ endless creative curiosity and shared fascination with technology. It marks the completion of the last recording that John, Paul and George and Ringo will get to make together and celebrates the legacy of the foremost and most influential band in popular music history.

I was born in 1980, and it’s hard to believe that The Beatles have had a profound impact on my life even though the band broke up 10 years before I was born. My dad and I bonded over every album. I was 10 when John died. My childish heart was broken and I spent days by myself, listening to my Beatles' tapes, over and over again, as the only mourning ritual I could make up. Thanks to these guys I opened myself to the infinite universe of art and beauty, and my life was better since. To hear a Beatles song, at 52, in 2023, is an experience that trascends the listening pleasure. It's something deep, almost spiritual... I'm so grateful.

I can't stop crying, again. Even though I was old enough to hear Free as a Bird and Real Love in the 90's, I wasn't a fan at this point yet. So I can say this is the first new song of The Beatles I'm hearing since I'm a fan. It makes me cry to hear John's voice again and George's guitar. Also the sadness of the song, the beautiful strings and the fact that it is really the last Beatles song,... it makes me feel happy and sad at the same time. The Beatles' music will never disappear but one day they will all be gone, and it breaks my heart so much. I don't want this to be the last song. I want new songs from them every 25 years eheh

When I heard this song for the first time I got all choked up and teary-eyed....so beautiful!! It's amazing to hear new music from the Beatles in over 50 years!! I was only 6 years old when the Beatles broke up in 1970, so I never got to see them perform live. Hearing them all playing together is as if I'm going back in time and seeing them perform as the amazing Fab Four once again. I give a true heartfelt thank you to all who were involved (especially J P G & R) in putting together this masterful piece of music history!

I am 60 now. Have loved the Beatles since I was 6. I asked my 26 year old son to sit and listen with me. I said this is history. In 30 years when I am gone this will still be relevant and you can say I sat and listened with my mom when this debuted. Thank you Beatles for giving me so much joy all my life.
