wow. her lyricism is crazy. she really does seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.

i also love that this love song is less about the other person and is more about how her own "poison" (self-loathing, self-doubt, mental health struggles) is sabotaging the relationship and her love life in general. so nuanced. a lot of love songs often center around the other person, but olivia flips this trope on its head so beautifully with her sharp self-awareness. i am so excited for the album and what other fresh perspectives she brings

i think this is the very concept of "you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love." you appreciate the love they give, and it felt so good, but at the end of the day, it's never enough to be the cure.
