I've watched this goal so many times. It boggles the mind the mental and technical skill required to: (a) be in the position; (b) to take the first touch as he did; (c) to see where Allison and the defender were; (d) to conclude that a shot with the second touch would likely be blocked; (e) to then consciously decide against taking the shot with the second touch; (f) to identify an alternative strategy with the fake; (g) to execute the fake without prejudicing the goal scoring opportunity; and (h) to execute the final shot. While I'm realistic about how long we can keep Kaoru Mitoma, I'm enjoying the present and the happiness his quality brings.

inhuman, that's all I have to say to the video refereeing commission, the VAR. Fabinho almost takes Fergueson's foot off, a clear foul for Red, as well as Konate who should also be sent off against Macallister. If I were in England I would organize a citywide protest. these refereeing errors can destroy dreams of players and fans. ferguson could miss an entire season if the injury is serious. if i were in england i would throw a stone at the var window. it works for nothing!

Mitoma seems to have found a good manager and a good team.
How lucky he is to now work under a manager who can make tactical use of Mitoma in this way. He used to be part of a Japanese football team with excellent footwork and tactics. Mitoma is a player with a good tactical understanding.
I believe he dares to give interviews in English to familiarise himself with the local fans. In Japan, English is learnt at school but rarely used in everyday life.
His football and English skills will improve further.
