Btw, can we all talk about the lyrics? It's so much more than the beat and music. It summarize a lot of things from her past old self and where she is now. I know some of you miss the old her but can we just appreciate that she's beyond happy and love where she is now? Let's all give our love and support to this hardworking shark. Everyone's said all they could about the fact this song is a banger and the lyrics are awesome--now I just wish there was an Elfen Lied Style anime about Gura coming from the sea to escape the oppressive pressures of being a Princess of Atlantis. A HoloMyth anime where each of the HoloEN girls calls upon their great power to exorcise Gura from the red-eyed gura from the jacket is a story I'd like to see. Ina could call upon the Anicent ones to spring you free at the start, Kiara could sacrifice herself in a climax to not only prove her ultimate, timeless friendship, but the feather left by her as she burns up to ash to begin rebirth could fall upon a dying Gura and bring her back to life. And when the red-eyed shark is revealed to be a dark manifestation of your Apex nature as an Atlantean, Calli could be the one you trust to not only protect you when all seems lost, but guide you through a process to separate you both and then the whole crew cna join together to put down the darkness for good!

Gura is singing in the form of two personas - her past self and her current self. This is basically a story of self-acceptance and confronting the past and who you are. She hid from her former self by performing an act of being a different person, and her old self kept creeping into her mind as her thoughts of "I don't want to be that me, so I'll be someone I'm not." When she confronted her past finally she realized that who she is now is a part of her, but so is her past. She is not condemning herself to be the person of the past, and it's indicated by the "sayonara" and "arigatou" as well as the lyrics following that although she may have accepted herself and her former life, she still wants to move forward with who she is - but she will keep her past in her thoughts.

I was listening to this a few times yesterday but only read the lyrics now. And I'm deeply moved because it feels like the lyrics address and touch on a lot of gura's personal story, how things were different in the past, and that a part of that was left behind - for example because of the changes and conditions the work for HoloLive created - but it also fulfilled a lot of her desires, she has met new people and sounds like she's happier now, while still acknowledging that her past path was necessary to end up where she is now - the last line that is translated with "Nothing bad is without something good".

I feel like this is an addition to Gura's lore.
How she was a bloodthirsty, savage but ultimately "empty" shark during a period in her 9000 year old life. Then awakening to her true feelings and coming onto land to become a v-tuber.

I have to say this song is amazing in several ways, but the most important part for me personally is the story it builds and tells you while leaving it vague enough to make you craving more. It's like the music video Shelter. It's so good you kinda want the idea around it to manifest into a show or movie. However, after reading some of the other comments, its been made clear that there's also a hint of Gura's past and present experience's which is amazing, heartbreaking, and incredibly creative. Up to this point I have enjoyed most of the funny clips and a few of Gura's singing video's, but I couldn't truly call myself a fan. After this..........I definitely am, and more than that........I'm inspired. Keep up the good work Gura.

Wow. That was incredible. I love the way this unique song depicts the duality of Gura's inner thoughts so openly, and the creative variety of tonal shifts in the music unironically "hits different". After replaying it 5+ times, I now feel compelled to re-watch Re:Zero, because REFLECT feels like it would be a perfect introspective OP/ED for that masterpiece of a show.
