Yuto: Three things… France is stylish. Talking of France, Paris comes up in my mind… and the food is nice too. And you know, France won the World Cup in 2018, and it’s not just once, they won several times. So, for me, France is really stylish and good at football, and I have a really good impression on France after all. Also, I’ve had teammates speaking French though, French is so difficult I think. You know, I was in Italy (so I speak Italian) and I’ve also studied Spanish before, and I think those two are similar. But, French pronunciation is so unique, so I feel like I have to study.

I: Do you know any French words?

Yuto: Bonjour! Merci! It means thank you, right? And… that’s all lol

I: You currently say hello in Italian in the beginning of the videos, will you change it to French?

Yuto: Is that okay…? I mean... if I changed that, I would be no longer strong-willed. So, I won’t.

I: Then, you say hello in Italian after all.

I: I asked you the impression of the country, what about Ligue 1?

Yuto: I’ve had some games with teams from Ligue 1 in UCL and also French international team. Players are so fast and strong, so winning duels would be the key to win the match I think.

I: Who or which team do you want to play against? Give us each from teams and players.

Yuto: Well, speaking of France, PSG first comes up in my mind. I played against PSG when I was in Galatasaray, and we suffered humiliating defeat. I still remember the feeling of chagrin, so I’m glad to play against PSG on the same stage again. We (Marseille) play in UCL as well. And all the players in PSG are excellent, but especially Neymar and Mbappe are super. If I lose duels with them, my team would lose. So, I’ll do my best.

Yuto: Well, UCL is at the highest level in the world, I personally think it’s higher than the World Cup. In UCL, teams are well trained with the same managers, and players are the top players from each league. So, UCL is definitely the best competition in the world. I experienced it for two seasons in Galatasaray, and I can play in UCL again as a Marseille’s player. I cannot wait to listen to the anthem. I: Hiroki Sakai, a Japanese international, will be your teammate in Marseille. And this is your first time to play with a Japanese player as teammates abroad. What do you think about that?

Yuto: True. It’s my first time to have a Japanese player in my team. Actually, when I got an offer from Marseille a few weeks ago, I called Hiroki and asked him about impression on team and how the life in Marseille is. He was really positive to it and told me this club is awesome as well as the city of Marseille. It was one of the biggest determinants. Of course, I’ll go to France to play football, but I also have to take care of my family. So, it was nice to hear that.
By the way, my transfer news is not on media yet. I sometimes knew my transfer news from media, but it’s not on media at this time. And I talked to Hiroki two weeks ago, but he hasn’t leak anything. He’s kept my secret. Thank you, Hiroki! I truly trust you, Hiroki-san. He is amazing because he’s played such a big club for four or five years. We’ve played together as left-back and right-back in Japanese international for a long time, so we’ll support each other and do our best to contribute to Marseille’s win.

Yuto: Well, I don’t say I’m not worried. I’m kind of worried because I didn’t play matches for a long time. But I’m more looking forward to playing.
