First of all, this is such a great and very fun interview so congrats to the crews for doing this. Secondly, Ohtani's English is quite fluent and he understood all the questions in English very well so the only reason he speak Japanese and need an interpreter there is for his Japanese fans in Japan who he know will tune in to watch this interview. Very considerate and respectful. Another reason why he is such a good role model.

He's the greatest baseball player I have ever seen, an elite hitter pitcher baserunner, a career .950 OPS as hitter and a 2.97 ERA with 11.4 Ks a start as pitcher, that is Goat status 🐐

I understand Japanese too then sometimes the interpreter mistranslated but he replies right or before he translated fully so he for sure understood most questions (and bet he can talk). Then he was asked what he enjoyed so far in US. Wherever he is, he is all about baseball so I bet it’s MLB.
