It’s time to blow this scene. Who’s in? Cowboy Bebop arrives Nov. 19.

COWBOY BEBOP is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka “cowboys,” all trying to outrun the past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals — for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them.

Based on the beloved anime series, COWBOY BEBOP is executive produced by André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg of Midnight Radio, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Makoto Asanuma, Shin Sasaki and Masayuki Ozaki of Sunrise Inc., Tim Coddington, Tetsu Fujimura, Michael Katleman, Matthew Weinberg, and Christopher Yost. Nemec serves as showrunner. Original anime series director Shinichirō Watanabe is a consultant on the series, and original composer Yoko Kanno returns for the live-action adaptation. The series also stars Alex Hassell and Elena Satine.

Ngl the casting choice for Ein is spot on. Really nailed that one.
2: Form of Therapy 2021/09/26 13:35
Even if the live action is not good, and here’s hoping it is, I would rather have a live action adaptation suck because it at least tried to capture the spirit of the anime and the essence of its characters, rather than it suck and it didn’t even try to capture the whole point of the source material.
3: Michael Rosado 2021/09/26 14:09
Does Captain Holt know about Cheddar the Dog’s space adventures 😂
4: DARKSIDE 13 2021/09/26 12:58
This looks a lot more promising but at the same time I still a bit concerned.
5: raizen912 2021/09/26 12:42
I'm glad to see they've made Mad Pierrot even more horrifying. Wasn't necessary but they did it.
6: Impostor 2021/09/26 12:07
The Cowboy Bepop theme is too good man, you can never skip that song
7: Lahila Astravnar 2021/09/26 16:49
The opening that respects the anime. Enjoyable to ear this music again. Very good. I hope in a sufficient number of sci-fi effects: this is space opera, not a amount of tarantinian scenes only.
8: Welcome to the Joke 2021/09/26 17:24
The look on John Cho's face in the shot where he's eating takeout is just so in-character for Spike it gives me hope for this series.
9: Better Call Maul 2021/09/26 12:37
Mad Pierrot at 0:35 is something I was not expecting! Also that shot of the Swordfish taking off looks great.
10: ReduxStereo 2021/09/26 13:57
I just hope this live series captures the jazzy smooth noir vibes that made the anime so great. Like saxophones blowing sexy sounds away during night sky and space scenes while the fender rhode synths massage our ear drums.
11: Dynaman21 2021/09/26 3:28
“We can’t make something better than Tank!, so let’s not even bother trying.” That’s a smart decision.
12: Robban Bobban 2021/09/26 17:25
I really don't know how to feel about this. In a way it's so beat-for-beat like the original intro, that I just don't see the point. Also the fact that they're recreating many (most?) classic episodes from the anime makes me wonder if there's going to be even a hint of creativity at play. Cowboy Bebop revolves around bounty hunters, and they could've created any number of new and interesting gigs, yet that doesn't seem to be the case. Now instead of doing something new, they're only going to draw comparisons to the original which, let's be honest, is never going to be surpassed. It also looks cheap, in a way that the anime never did.

Also... who the hell asked for this?
13: Remy Wonderland 2021/09/26 18:10
I was worried this was gonna suck like most people but from seeing this seems like they just gonna copy the original show. Awesome!!
14: Ørion 2021/09/26 15:47
I have mixed feelings for this adaptation, I respect them trying (keyword: trying) to keep the original feel of the anime and not changing the opening, but this is still a Netflix live action adaptation.
15: That Tricky Trickster 2021/09/26 17:31
I have faith in John Cho. Solid actor.
16: Dam 2021/09/26 8:54
Pretty cool that they got the makers of Space Cop to do the sets
17: Burnsmh 2021/09/26 13:40
My favorite episode is Ballad of Fallen Angels, when Spike goes out the window and Green Bird starts to play...Seeing that shot of him and Vicious...Oh God, I got goosebumps
18: Ladybug Cactus 2021/09/26 13:17
*flashbacks to Deathnote live action* oh no not another anime getting an live action!! Please for the love of anime don’t do an “avatar the last air bender”
19: Gabriel Patten 2021/09/26 12:51
Whoever approved that footage of John Cho running...straight to jail with you
20: Jess Kroll 2021/09/26 18:56
The use of CGI backgrounds make this live action version seem even more of a cartoon than the animated series. The original had a grimy, lived-in quality, like everything in the scene including the characters had been used beyond its expiration date. This preview though, looks like cosplayers on a green screen.
21: AustinMcConnell 2021/09/26 5:13
Boy, I tell ya what, this trailer is gonna give people opinions.
22: Robert Richards 2021/09/26 18:24
It’s an interesting creative decision to be nearly 1:1 with the anime. The live action elements in the opening are both intriguing and kind of jarring in an uncanny valley kind of way. Superficially, the makeup and costume design look cosplayish so I’m interested to see how that look contrasts with the more dramatic elements the show should have. What appears to be the set design in the opening makes it look like the makeup and costume are stylized in a pleasing way. This is one of if not the first anime in which the English dub was taken very seriously so I hope they nail it.
23: David Perez 2021/09/26 14:33
I don’t know about you guys… but I’m pretty stoked about this. I feel like this Netflix adaptation will be pretty good
24: Frost The White Lion 2021/09/26 15:49
They went all their way to make this, I'm impressed
25: JackAlope ! 2021/09/26 14:36
It's was wisdom to use Tank! as the credits. I think everyone looks great. Even Faye's outfit, which isn't totally accurate, is a good practical homage and Daniella Pineda looks closest than the other two, who look great.

Something reminds me of Sin City. Not sure how I feel about that but it might be an artifact of the blending of live action and animation.
26: Tina K 2021/09/26 3:47
Spike finally gets to eat good food, but only in the opening. 😂
27: Skia Rytn 2021/09/26 15:07
I have mixed feelings on this but it’s leaning more towards hype 🤩
28: Jhonatan Pinzon 2021/09/26 16:07
I was surprised to see asimov solensan, the madam and his sons, mad pierrot, and the guy that kidnapped EIN in the same intro is so amazing.
29: Chris Kotsovos 2021/09/26 12:16
I guess they're saving Radical Edward for season 2.
30: Григорий Битнев 2021/09/26 19:30
Живое доказательство того, почему оригинал сделан именно с помощью анимации.

Разные медиумы работают по-разному и это хорошо.
31: Nhek Zero 2021/09/26 9:48
They better have The Real Folk Blues playing with the ending credits.
32: Sally 2021/09/26 17:15
No se Uds. Pero yo escucho Tank y todo me parece INCREÍBLE!!!!!
33: Brendan Parker 2021/09/26 14:51
This looks amazing and like trash at the same time
34: jin kim 2021/09/26 17:53
At the board meeting: "I've got it! A live-action adaption of Cowboy Bebop!" "What's a Cowboy Bebop?" "It's like my all-time favorite anime and I'm the nephew of Netflix's largest shareholder, so it's a green light!!"
35: SeiShinCasios 2021/09/26 17:48
Oh I hope this lives up to the Anime! Most in my family would not consider watching an anime sadly, but if this has the right vibes, humor, action and sadness it's gonna be a great show, which I'd love to share with my family!
This actually put a smile on my lips! It's strange seeing real actors, but it looks fun :D
36: Hero Hei 2021/09/26 4:04
"Jimmy was the kind of guy who rooted for the bad guys in the Netflix Cowboy Bebop adaptation" - Henry Hill, probably
37: Corey Davis 2021/09/26 15:37
I'm glad they paid homage by using the original theme song.
Tank! is Cowboy Bebops most important character imo 😂
38: Rizzle O 2021/09/26 12:46
This is going to be like being awake watching and feeling them remove body parts in an operating room.
39: Abe Froman 2021/09/26 19:28
the song is definitely a key signature of the series so glad they kept it
40: Denny Nguyen 2021/09/26 16:36
Well, I feel they got the vibe right. Despite the drama I like the casting choices, respect to John Cho for doing a younger character's role. Looking forward to it
41: Landy Fischer 2021/09/26 19:25
These days everyone seems to have already made up their mind about a show, movie, or video game before they even watch it. It is actually acceptable to wait to make a judgement until the proper time, believe it or not. Or even better, don't judge. Enjoy it for what it is, and not for what YOU think it should have been.
42: François Colin 2021/09/26 18:48
Why making a live action for everything. The anime was perfection.
43: Nihal Gupta 2021/09/26 18:35
The best jazz music opening period.
44: Mr2 Reviews 2021/09/26 16:01
0:27 The tepid recoil of this shot makes it painfully obvious they're airsoft or blank guns.
45: grandpagohan1 2021/09/26 18:10
This feels kinda awkward, but I'm also kinda okay with it.
46: The Alchemist Ikari 2021/09/26 16:20
i got into Cowboy cuz as a kid my brother found the first season layin around in our old daycare and i took it home, i never looked back since🍻🍻
47: NikoKun 2021/09/26 14:47
Can't have Cowboy Bebop without Ed. Especially if they're aiming to reproduce the anime in live action, to this degree.. lol
Looks like it might have potential tho. So we'll see. ;)
48: Abbas Khan 2021/09/26 17:15
This looks underwhelming. Like I had low expectations but I thought it'd be a slick looking, futuristic sci-fi show. But seeing these little clips between the title, it looks more like a low-budget show akin to the likes of Power Rangers. The way it's shot looks eh..
49: King Caesar 2021/09/26 11:39
The fact they're doing the mushroom and teddy bomber episodes is making me laugh by itself.
50: NTXMediaNerd 2021/09/26 12:58
I love it, can’t wait for this…… but at the very end……. WHERE IS ED’S SILHOUETTE?!?!?
