Nadal is playing a different game than everyone else on clay. No one has figured out how to match him. GO RAFA!!!!!
3: Tomer Aviram 2020/10/12 5:33
It’s symbolic that he got his 20th grand slam and equaled Federer’s record and now both of them have 20 in 2020.
4: Scott Andigan 2020/10/12 6:31
This was the most tactical beat down I’ve ever seen on a court besides the beating Rafa gave Roger in RG 08. Nadal used every single conceivable shot, lob, drop shot, angle, topspin, high looping forehand return, straight backhand, straight forehand, change of pace slice followed by a fearhand return... my goodness... God Mode activated. Joker 🃏 played well actually he was just shocked as there was no game plan for this type of play on clay. Federer did this on grass in Wimbledon 19 but he choked away the match. Rafa said “not today”try next year. Phenomenal performance.

Djokovic after Rome: Nadal is beatable

Nadal : Hold my bagel
6: Kevin Munguia 2020/10/12 6:59
“How would you beat Rafa?”

“With a stick... while he slept... but on clay? With a racket? That man is unbeatable”
7: Carlox 2002 2020/10/12 6:32
Why is this tournament still called "Roland Garros" and not "RAFA NADAL"
8: Chibi Manuntag 2020/10/12 5:49
This dude has been so dominant on clay that nole and fed fans refused to acknowledge that tennis on clay is still tennis 😂😂.
9: LEAA113 2020/10/12 15:27
*Rafa Nadal iguala a Roger Federer (20 victorias en Grand Slams).* 👏🏻
10: Manolo Fernandez 2020/10/12 8:36
Rafael Nadal wins his 40th French Open by beating Roger Federer's grandson in the finals.
11: Kumaczacza 3 2020/10/12 6:54
Everything was against him this year...Final in october, cold, rain, wilson balls, Novak in the final and they even closed the roof for final... still he won it without dropping a set and the way he destroyed Djokovic in final is just amazing... such a legend - repeat in half a year...
12: Son Sam 2020/10/12 7:48
It was the most elegant, professional and focused grand slam final from Rafa I have ever seen. We are fortunate to still be in the era of the greatest champion tennis has ever seen. He was an unstoppable ruthless force on the court and the sweetest most humble winner. Despite this year's hardship watching Rafa claim his 13th Roland Garros has brought a small piece of normality to this year and hope for the next. Vamos Rafa, you truly are the one and only GOAT.
13: bigtech tyranny 2020/10/12 5:50
Both Fed & Novak have said Rafa is their greatest rival. That's highest praises right there... Rafa pushed them to become better players. How insane is that? Rafa's trajectory dealt with prime Fed & prime Nole.
14: Alex BG1 2020/10/12 16:19
Djokovic: "I believe that the only constant in life is the change."

Nadal: "Not much has changed around here.."
15: Nikola Djelic 2020/10/12 7:17
From Nole's fan: when I saw this highlites, I saw Nole was not too bad, just Nadal and his tremendous performance. I can not remeber when someone destroyed Nole like this. I was sure Nole will win, but I have to congrarulate Rafa, this is fuckin' unbelieveble, and I am really happy because him, he deserved that. He is good guy, very humble, big fighter, I like the way he plays, he is Nole's biggest rival, and I am happy to have an opportunity to watch these legends. Today, it was very difficult for me, but let Nadal enjoy his well deserved record-breaking trophy. Can't wait blockbuster number 57. All the best to all Rafa's fans!
16: Ermis Hatziantoniou 2020/10/12 6:40
The first time i watched you was in 2009 Australian Open . A little young guy from Mallorca with a shy attitude and a humble pure heart yet with a world to conquer , small in his words and compassionate in his opponents after their defeats but on the court a matador ready to strike and show no mercy in his strokes .
I was fascinated as a small kid ; the athleticism the fighting spirit and the mindset of never giving up had made me a fan instantly. From that moment on I knew who I was supporting ; tennis itself THE GOD OF CLAY . You are the greatest inspiration for me , you introduced me to tennis and the passion of the sport . You made me stronger , more determined and with the sole purpose of achieving greatness in life while maintaining humility. I would have never ever expected in my life that after so long you would still find new ways to jaw drop me and make me love the game even more always learning new values and aspects in life.
THE GREATEST IDOL
THE GREATEST SPORTSMAN AND ATHLETE IN HISTORY
THE GREATEST EXAMPLE OF A TRUE WARRIOR
DO NOT STOP , ONLY MOVE FORWARD
I WILL FOLLOW THAT EXAMPLE...!
#13 and still counting... GOAT!!
Stay Healthy Everybody..

"The conditions are tough for Rafa"
Meanwhile him:not even losing a set in the entire slam.
Rafa: excuse me?! Pardon 😜 😎
13th Title ♥️
20 in 2020♥️
19: Bongani Arthur 2020/10/12 5:32
Before:
•Wins four times in a row.
•Wins five times in a row.

Now
•Wins it for a fourth time in a row.

Regardless of the conditions, Nadal owns RG, by now he should be the shareholder of all those courts!!!
20: Ina Fab 2020/10/12 5:49
I can watch Rafa win Roland Garros over and over again for as long as he's able to... I want him to set the bar soooo high so no one else catches up to him at RG... My fave of all time PERIODT! I just love watching him esp. when he whips that forehand over his head. Congrats Rafa! Love from 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
21: Andreas Hoppe 2020/10/12 7:37
Rafa wasn't just winning, he was toying with Novak... very impressive!

All The Staff Members at Roland Garros were rushed to the hospital after they managed to make an 8 Minute Highlight successfully.
23: Pablo 2020/10/12 5:10
Lo siento por Nole, pero hoy Rafael le a pasado por encima con un nivel de tenis galáctico.
Gracias Rafael por darnos tantas alegrías y tan épicos momentos. La Historia del tenis sigue escribiendo tu Nombre.

24: Zed Earl 2020/10/12 8:14
They need to rename one of the outside courts “VAMOS RAFA” and to let him keep the trophy like Brazil when they won the FIFA World Cup three times. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 FO
25: Scott Andigan 2020/10/12 6:32
It’s almost as if Rafa was intentionally playing poorly the previous rounds but doing just enough to win in straight sets so as to leave joker and his supporters with a false sense of confidence heading to the final. Well played my friend, Chess ♟ not Checkers.
26: Raúl Pretch 2020/10/12 7:33
- Djokovic: Rafael Nadal is beatable on clay
- Schwartzman: Nadal owns Roland Garros, but I know I can beat him.
- Rafa: Yeah, 100% true.

- Schwartzman: That's why Rafael Nadal is the Final.
- Djokovic: Rafa surprised me. Chapeau and well done.
- Rafa:
27: GreaterGood510 2020/10/12 5:38
It would have been more dominant if Rafa liked the tennis balls this year.
28: Intern Creamery 2020/10/12 7:27
I seriously would suggest Roland Garros to rename Court Philippe Chatrier to Court Rafael Nadal. He deserves it.
29: Miguel Cordero García de Soria 2020/10/12 6:46
Well, at the beginning of his tennis career Federer won several GS against lesser players and that happened before Nadal appeared and had become a real threat in non-clay courts. After Nadal won Wimbledon, his record is clearly better than Federer's. Plus he's won the Olympics in singles (Federer and Nole haven't), and also in doubles, and he has seven master series more than Federer and only one less than Nole. Plus he's won five times the Davis cup (Nole and Federer only once). He's won 9 times in Rome and 11 in Montecarlo, no other player has won 9 or more times a top tournement (masters 1000 or GS), he has done it in three different tournements. True, he hasn't won the masters cup, but I think that after his 13th RG we can argue that so far his overall achievements surpass any other player´s in history.

For almost two and a half sets, this was Nadal at his A prime game and Nadal at this level and on clay is unbeatable despite the fact that if you could tailor a French Open to suit Djokovic's strengths (and neutralize some of Nadal's strengths) this slow and heavy French Open would be it.

If this was being played as usual in the spring on a faster and more spin amenable court, I would say that there might have been another bagel in the offing. Of course, if this was played on a hard court, it would be much closer but, even then, I'm not sure Djokovic wins if Nadal plays at this level. As Djokovic put it, he was simply phenomenal (or phenomenadal if you prefer).

Djokovic faced the existential dilemma and conundrum of Nadal's high arcing and fierce topspin on clay--you stay near the baseline and take your chances by constantly hitting on the rise (at the risk of unforced errors) or you stay back which in turn opens up the court for Nadal (and you can guess how that will end).

Djokovic followed the now prescribed way to have a chance against Nadal--he stayed near the baseline and tried to force the issue. The problem is when Nadal hits with the kind of consistent depth and pace that he did today, it's almost impossible to avoid unforced errors especially with Nadal's ability to cover the court--it forces you to be too precise and too perfect for too long.

In some ways, I think the preferred surface for each of the Big 3 reflects so much of their games and personalities. The visceral grittiness and greatness of the terre battue at Roland Garros, the majestic splendor of the lawns at Wimbledon and the crisp precision and exacting nature of the hard courts at the Australian and US Opens.

It is generally thought that the French is the toughest to win because (due to the relative length of the points and the unpredictable nature of the surface ) of the premium placed on the mental, physical and tactical aspects of the game. That's what makes 13 (and counting!) GS on this surface in particular so unfathomable and probably the record that has the best chance at never being broken.

In the end, I think, in the Big 3, we're watching an era of tennis greatness that will likely never be matched again.

Enjoy it while you can.

It's crazy to think that Iga, the women's champion, was 4 years old when Rafa won his first trophy. Now, 15 years later, he is still the champion. What a legend. 🏆♥️
32: Jaime leon guzman 2020/10/12 6:29
It's so funny people saying Rafa is the king of clay like its something new. 🙄. Rafa has been undisputed king of clay for nearly a decade now!!!
33: Bille 2020/10/12 7:00
The French Open trophy needs to be named the Nadal Trophy
34: Georgios Temirsidis 2020/10/12 5:54
As one of the commentators said "This wasn't even a match". Rafa dominated every rally from the very beginning. It felt like he just lost 7 games, not like Novak won them. He's lost a lot of finals to Djokovic, but he really is unrivaled at Roland Garros. Roger used to be the same way at Wimbledon, and he still would be but age is a bitch. I respect Djokovic enormously, but Roger and Rafa are unquestionably a cut above.
35: Nico Wagner 2020/10/12 5:51
Rafa's stats at Roland Garros: 100 wins, 2 loses...amazing
36: afiq77 afiq77 2020/10/12 5:54
The only thing King Rafa lose when he started to play tennis until today, is hair. Hail to the greatest tennis player ever!
37: Ed Dames 2020/10/12 8:33
The 1,000 people in the audience should feel like the royalty after watching this epic dominance of King Rafa against the world's #1 ranked player in men's tennis. And he is not done yet!
38: OcelotDAD 2020/10/12 6:57
I have never seen Djokovic so helpless. And it's not like he was playing terribly in the first set. Rafa was just unreal today.
39: Xetoi 2020/10/12 8:17
Viva Rafael Nadal y VIVA ESPAÑA, FELIZ 12 DE OCTUBRE A TODOS LOS ESPAÑOLES E HISPANOS
40: Taylor Pack 2020/10/12 13:16
Djokovic fans: Nole will destroy him, he’s in his head.
Me, after the final: bahahahahahahahahahahahahaha 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
41: David Le 2020/10/12 11:57
my girlfriend asked me, "who do you think will win?" I gave her a look that said, "you're asking me who I think will win between someone who's won the French Open 12 times versus someone who's won it once...?" Luckily for me all I said was "Nadal" very politely
42: apmdhsma sjgsmsbsj 2020/10/12 5:25
The fact that he won a whole grand slam without dropping a single set is amazing
43: Jay-R Isleta 2020/10/12 10:55
No one had ever mentioned that this is gonna be a murder. Someone call the police! 🤣🤣 Rafa returning the favor to Novak from Australia to Paris with love. Very happy for the King of Clay #13 #20
44: Abdelraouf Eissa 2020/10/12 12:23
Federer and Djokovic should really feel lucky that they where able to win RG once each to complete the Career Grand Slam during the Nadal era.
45: Bubbas Ernie 2020/10/12 14:24
3 things are certain in life:
1. Death
2. Taxes
3. Nadal winning Roland Garros
46: Moorish Brooklyn 2020/10/12 8:14
One thing is for sure, we should all be as happy as Nadal is for every win, every final and every trophy. The excitement doesn't seems to leave him. It all makes sense now; every win no matter how small counts towards the bigger picture and goal.
47: Fred Eric 2020/10/12 5:14
Isnt this the best tennis that has ever been played ?
These guys broke every record along with Roger, but Rafa.. ... my goodness.. what a monster he became...
48: Heliodoro Summa Artis 2020/10/12 5:18
¡Viva Rafa!
49: taboo7tatoo 2020/10/12 5:56
That is the clay-court emperor. Anybody that faces him in finals, better run away than to play him.
50: Explore Theworld2489 2020/10/12 6:26
If they ever tell my story, let them say I walked with giants. Men rise and fall like the winter wheat, but these names will never die. Let them say I lived in the time of Federer torch bearer of Tennis Golden Era. Let them say, I lived in the time of Rafa.
