To the person that said the other scientists sounded like ash’s voice, I agree and also have something to add. I went back to a previous video that played all of the voice lines from the “ashes to ashes” quest. One of the lines read, “just a wee bit of betrayal before breakfast, ay dearie.” The scientist uses the same word “dearie” as ash uses in her lines from the quest. This further advances the theory of this scientist being ash from the past.

Then what’s supposedly be Ash from back then... SO THAT IS ASH?! Then with horizon being the next legend and ash being a simulacrum... 87 year’s later she yet realizes that ash is still alive as a simulacrum... yes I see the more lore the better...

Edit: also her son’s name could be Valk as a future legend... this is just my theory

The new movie Interstellar: The Promise of Apex Legends

Lore theory – the woman that betrays Horizon in the story from the outlands is Ash (pre-simulacrum), she was chosen for this mission because it would need an elite pilot to help navigate the perils of flying around a blackhole (making Ash pretty darn old) Horizon is the “old friend” that Blisk warned Ash was back in the comic book quest line. The man Ash conferred with was someone from the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation who clearly want the power of Branthium for themselves. Something about the exchange of the Branthium (perhaps with a flag ship that would become the Remnant Fleet) went wrong (a double cross maybe) and this resulted in Ash’s “accident” and transformation into a simulacrum. The current reassembled Ash’s scattered thoughts (“Olympus” “All roads lead to Branthium”) are pieces of this past that she cannot quite put straight in her mind.

Other things from the video - The video shows time passing slower for Horizon (as she is at the event horizon of a blackhole where gravity effects the flow of time – probs how she gets her legend name). She’s there just under a year (Local time), but back on Olympus 87-years pass in this time. She goes a little space crazy in this time in isolation, talking to her drone re-telling it the story of the promise she made to her son. She keeps herself somewhat sane though by imagining that her discovery of Branthium did in fact save the “kingdom” for her son and allowed him to grow-up, have a family of his own and a good life. But sadly, it is just a fantasy; the picture reverts back to him as a boy and when she creates her own wormhole and manages to return, she discovers that the “kingdom” must have in fact been destroyed and abandoned shortly after she left (her son’s room being basically unchanged in 87yrs is evidence of this). She is now focused on time travel and finding a way to get back to her son and keep her promise (“It’s only a matter of TIME”).

We see the Olympus flying saucer in several backdrops throughout the video, so it appears that at least an older version of Olympus was destroyed, but we also know from other legends lore that Olympus is still a thriving, wealthy floating city. Perhaps the original Olympus that Horizon lived on was actually on the planet, and when event occurred that destroyed the “Kingdom” they rebuilt in the sky above.

So I have to say, Respawn has got some major talent working on these characters. Whoever is writing up these backstories is fantastic. You’re next game needs to have a story mode so we can see characters like this really shine.

So she isn't from pre-space colonial time, and she isn't from Revenants time, but she is definitely not from "current" time. Apex team is now messing with our sense of time in a good way!
Also would be crazy if her hometown was the place where we kept jumping through time in Titanfall 2 because scientists were experimenting there :O
