EVNNE이 오디션 프로그램으로 시작된 프로젝트 그룹을 넘어, 정식 그룹으로서 첫 번째 싱글 앨범 [뱉어 (Backtalk)]을 선보인다.

다섯 멤버가 온전히 스스로 선택한 이번 앨범은, 완벽을 연기하기보다 불완전한 자신과 정면으로 마주하는 솔직한 태도에서 출발한다. 자신의 약점과 치부를 숨기지 않고 드러내는 ‘셀프디스’를 선택하며, 가공되지 않은 에너지와 허세 없는 진정성을 거침없이 풀어낸다. 그들의 거침없는 에너지는 어디서부터 비롯되는 것일까?
이번 타이틀곡 작사는 외부 작가의 손을 빌리지 않고, 멤버들이 이야기로 직접 써 내려갔다. 각자의 고민과 시선이 고스란히 담긴 가사에는 타인의 언어가 아닌, 이들 자신의 언어가 살아 숨 쉰다. 외부의 시선과 과거의 상흔도 피하지 않고 끌어안으며, 끝내 자신과 직면한다.

‘Backtalk’는 단순한 말대꾸가 아니다. 정해진 틀에 얽매이지 않고 자신들의 방식으로 답하며, ‘뱉어’라는 직설적인 표현을 통해 타인의 기준을 벗어나 자신들만의 궤도를 만들어가는 결기를 보여준다. 그 거침없는 목소리 속에서, 우리는 무엇을 마주하게 될까.

음악적 결단 역시 그들의 손끝에서 비롯된다. 멤버들은 K-POP씬에서 흔히 접하기 어려운 디지코어(Digicore) 장르를 직접 선택해, 거친 사운드를 자신들만의 결로 다시 쌓아 올렸다. 타이틀곡 ‘뱉어 (Backtalk)’에서는 정교한 디지털 사운드와 힙합 특유의 거친 에너지를 맞부딪치게 하며, EVNNE만의 색을 한층 선명하게 각인시킨다.
컨셉 포토는 ‘DRILL’과 ‘PATINA’ 두 가지 컨셉을 통해 스스로의 약점을 마주하는 서로 다른 태도를 담아냈다. 메인 컨셉 ‘DRILL’은 멤버들의 약점을 날카롭게 파고들어 솔직하게 드러낸다. 반면 ‘PATINA’는 시간의 흐름 속에서 남겨진 마모의 흔적을 덮지 않고 드러내며, 반복된 도전과 시간의 축적이 만든 EVNNE만의 깊이를 보여준다.

뮤직비디오는 통제되지 않은 무한의 공간, ‘EVNNE’s PLANET’을 배경으로 ‘셀프 디스(Self-diss)’라는 주제를 풀어낸다. 불완전한 세계 속에서 멤버들은 또 다른 자신과 마주 선다. 그들은 더 이상 피하지도, 숨기지도 않는다. 가장 솔직한 본질을 그대로 드러낸 채, 서로를 향해 그리고 자신을 향해 거침없이 부딪힌다. 스스로의 약점을 정면으로 돌파해 나가며 만들어내는 긴장감 속에서, 광활한 공간 속 연출은 곡이 지닌 힘을 더욱 극명하게 드러낸다.

[뱉어 (Backtalk)]는 EVNNE이 스스로의 한계를 파고들어 얻어낸 단단한 결과다. 자신의 약점마저 외면하지 않고 파고들며 본질에 다가가려는 이들의 태도는, 정해진 답이 아닌 자신만의 방향을 만들어가는 과정을 보여준다. 이제 이들은 타인의 시선에 갇히지 않고, 스스로 확립한 견고한 정체성으로 나아간다.

EVNNE goes beyond being a project group formed through an audition program and unveils their first single album [뱉어 (Backtalk)] as an official group.

Chosen entirely by the five members themselves, this album begins with an honest attitude directly facing their imperfect selves instead of imitating perfection. Choosing to ‘self-diss’ by revealing their own vulnerability and weakness rather than hiding them, they unleash raw energy and unfiltered sincerity without pretense. Where is their flowing energy coming from?

For the title track, the members have written the story of themselves without the hands of external songwriters. The lyrics breathe with their own voices instead of the language of others as they’re filled with their individual concerns and perspectives. They confront both the gaze of onlookers and the scars of their past without avoidance, ultimately facing themselves.

‘Backtalk’ is more than just firing back. They respond in their own way outside of the box, through the direct expression of ‘spit it out’ showing their determination to break away from the standards of others and carve out their own path. Within their unrestrained voices, what will we be facing?

Musical determination too, comes from their own hands. Members personally chose Digicore, a genre rarely encountered in the K-POP scene, and reconstructed the rough sound into their own texture. In the title track ‘Backtalk’, elaborate digital sound collides with the wild energy of hip-hop, leaving an even more distinct imprint of EVNNE’s signature color.

The concept photos show different approaches to confronting one’s own weaknesses through the two concepts of ‘DRILL’ and ‘PATINA’. The main concept ‘DRILL’ sharply digs into the members’ vulnerabilities, exposing them with frankness. In contrast, ‘PATINA’ reveals the traces of wear and tear left by the passage of time without disclosure, capturing the depth that EVNNE has built through repeated challenges and the accumulation of time.
The music video unfolds the theme of ‘Self-diss’ against the backdrop of ‘EVNNE’s PLANET’, a limitless space beyond control. In this imperfect world, the members face another version of themselves. They no longer avoid or hide. Instead, they reveal their most honest essence and encounter each other and clash with themselves. Amid the tension created by confronting and breaking through their own weaknesses, the direction in the vast setting clearly amplifies the power of the track.

[뱉어 (Backtalk)] is a solid result acquired by EVNNE digging into their own limitations. Their attitude of striving to reach their essence without ignoring even their own weaknesses shows a journey of building their own direction rather than following a predetermined answer. Now, they move forward with a firmly established identity of their own, without being confined by the gaze of others.
