Funfact: This song is written specifically for Project Sekai: Colorful Stage feat Hatsune Miku. It is a Vocaloid-based mobile rhythm game and this song is made to celebrate its first anniversary which is in September 30th. It is similar to Bang Dream except Crypton's Vocaloid characters are there along with 20 original character which is divided into 5 different units. The romaji title for the song is Gunjou Sanka.

My own interpretation of the song:

The black.haired girl lost her father at a young age, who left her the red broom and cat plushie as gifts. The girl grew up alone, and as a result of her lonely upbringing she started daydreaming about a fantasy world where she could live adventures with people and things that existed in her real life as well. Her classmates (nerdy girl with fuchsia hair and the serious student council president) became her adventure companions, the cat plushie the big boss to defeat and the broom a magic object that allowed her to fly. However, she never opened up to reality, as shown by the fact her young self is enclosed in a tiny room and refuses to get out, still probably mourning the death of her father (we can see her crying several times)
At this point her past ( represented by the cat plushie) is actively threatening the people around her, engulfing the girl (the scene where the cat eats her) and making her even more lonely.

Then one day the new student arrives (pink-haired girl) and the adventures the other girl dreamt of become a foreshadowing of the fact this new girl will be the one to make black-haired one open up to reality and live with real friends (the scene where pink-haired girl takes the young version of black-haired one by the hand and pulls her out of the tiny room) by overcoming her sad memories together (defeating the giant cat foe).

In the end, black-haired girl has probably started going out more with the people in her real life and left her sad past behind as symbolized by the broom which now lays abandoned in her house.
