With the little bit of Japanese knowledge in me, I tried to translate the lyrics to English

I read the story this was based on(link in the description - monogatary link) where it talks about a guy and girl that met in a small abandoned warehouse/factory full of musical equipment. While the world was in complete chaos about multiple problems(climate change was getting serious, etc.) and everyone had already expected that the world will end.

The guy had a best friend that he made and played music with. He plays the guitar while he* plays the piano. They were suddenly attacked during a rehearsal/demo/performance and they were separated since then. The guy tried to find his bestfriend but to no avail, expecting that he* might have died already. He quit making music after that incident.

Meanwhile, the girl that he met also had a backstory. She was a daughter of parents that wanted her to be a successful musician. She was forced to practice all the time, with her parents wanting her to even be better than Chopin. She wouldn't want to touch the piano after the trauma and stress she's dealt with. During her later years, her parents supposedly died after a terrorist attack that destroyed her house(during all the chaos). Leaving her alone in the world.

Now, with him meeting this girl after those events, he remembers his days with his bestfriend through this new girl that he met and the song sums up how the two expected "The End of the World" together.

Given the knowledge from that story, it should help me understand how the lyrics flowed.
