I think this song is about two people in a relationship that don’t know how to communicate, so they can never be themselves around each other. They end up feeling like strangers. All each of them can see is the other’s differences and disinterest. They do have love, but neither can tell that it’s mutual and the relationship begins to fall apart and decay, filled with resentment but still continuing to stay together for the sake of not wanting to break up (because of its bad reputation). They want to make it work but neither knows how to communicate it nor understand.
Edit: I have no clue about that last line “are you in love with both of us” but this song definitely seems like it needs more digging to get the story

I feel like this is about chatting online. You're talking to someone, but you don't even know if they mean what they say. It's like that meme where you type lol, but you're not even laughing. There's also that one-sided part wherein you have to carry the entire conversation at some point. Online chats made it possible for people to talk to anyone despite the distance, while in the comforts of their home, and yet it made some conversations hollow. You can talk to multiple people whenever and wherever you like, while also having the choice to ghost them whenever you please. You can move on and be indifferent about it because usually, there are no strings attached.
Basing your friendships and/or relationships online is somewhat lonely because in reality, you're alone with a computer/phone. So unless you make a connection with them in real life (which could be awkward at first), you are easy to replace.
Anyway, this song is another banger. Gives me Antenna vibes.

Okay here’s my theory. I think this song is about a toxic codependent online relationship. I think that it’s about two people that stay in a relationship and aren’t happy with each-other but cling to each-other because they have no one else. They know they aren’t right for each-other but every-time they argue or fall out they pretend nothing’s wrong until eventually they just grow more and more distant until the inevitable end of the relationship. I also think they may be driving each-other crazy because of how long they constantly text each-other and maybe they have social anxiety so they resolve to online dating. But at the end of the day like it days in the song it feels like you’re talking to yourself. This is from another theory but I think they also don’t know how to properly communicate and maybe they don’t even like each other they just bare each out of loneliness. Well that’s my theory anyways been through this and it resonates so hard id be super surprised if this isn’t what it’s about

Omg I relate to this song very hard as I find it hard to fully connect with people over the internet, even if I consider them a friend, because so much is lost through just text, I almost never see their actual face, nor do I know truly how they are irl, so I have a disconnect with them that is never resolved. It sometimes makes me feel alone and like a bad person, but I also have a hard time keeping up irl friendships because of anxiety and low self-esteem, so I tend to talk to friends that I've met over the internet a lot more. I used to get so paranoid to the point of breakdowns that an internet friend hated me because of the way they would type to me, but I've worked on that since then because feeling anxious and paranoid almost all the time is not healthy. The lyric "Are you listening to me?" resonates with that. Also the lyric "I'm troubled, I'm anxious, I'm turning silent, I'm turning into a bubble - alone, alone."

okay so ! this song is most likely about struggling to communicate in an online relationship. Two girls meet online and bond over trivial shared qualms as shown in the lyrics. they form a relationship and fixate heavily on one another, possibly to solely each other mainly ("one way mention to you"). but speaking only on relatable aspects of life, they both begin feeling like they really are only speaking to themselves based on the fact that they both refuse to share any aspect of individuality with one another. With no real positives to really note and nothing to appreciate about each other, they fixate on each other's flaws. They judge each other and call out on each other's flaws while refusing to actually listen to one another to improve themselves. It doesn't help especially with how both mention that they're inexperienced. this song hurts so much than it's supposed to haha. there was this guy i had a huge crush on, and i finally got the chance to make some progress in our relationship. we chatted a lot, mostly at night (because we both have terrible sleep schedules). and we talked a lot, or more like it was me who was doing the talking.
i did the effort of making conversation with him, from the things that happened in my day to little things (like what he was doing and random shit) just to talk to him. at times, he'd talk a lot, at times he'd give me one liners, and at times he'd suddenly disappear on me in the middle of a conversation (because of gaming).
made me wonder if my love reached him at some point, and i wanted him to look only at me. but mehhh, it's been weeks since we last talked (because he likes another girl, fuck you Christian).
