The story feels like Yuqi and Anyu began as a supportive couple but eventually, he saw himself as a possible obstacle to her success. So in order to set her free, he acted on doing things on purpose (the cheating part), even if he didn't want to, just so she would move on and pursue her dream. He's trying to forget her as if questioning if he made the right decision or regrets it. In the end, her singing about the pain that pushed her to pursue her career, got her into a wishful thinking. That, even when they broke up, they'll continue to live their lives separately and happily and she will forever treasure that person even they did not end up with each other.

I love how Yuqi has found a clear sound for herself and incorparated that in every single solo release so far from Giant, Bonnie & Clyde, Freak, Radio and now even with Motivation, all of them have that distinct emotional pop-rock sound with a hint of punk and it's perfect for her.

The story is different than how it has been presented. He never cheated (bar scene), he just set her free so that he won't be an obstacle in her success. When the story shifted once she said, "Idk why you did this to me?" and they were seen running together...his gaze softened as he had already seemed to made his final decision not to hold her back... The next scene after he slammed the door right after her line is where he was in tears outside, it was not the bar scene. The bar scene is just a flashback included in between which took place before their argument and holds the reason for the fight, and eventually break up. The smile, as he took that sip from the glass in the bar (after she left), showed his sorrow but with a sort of relief thinking that she would move on soon and this would be the end of their love story. Later she becomes successful and he has been admiring her in secret. Both of them have equal regrets in their hearts but past is past. They missed their time already, with no possibility to return to that phase . So she sings the last line as an answer to the letter (probably sent by him and he was in the crowd). She might have known the reason for their breakup from the letter.
