15 歳の頃、歌唱による喉の酷使が原因で突如声が出なくなるアクシデントに見舞われるも、数年後には独特のハスキーで甘い歌声を得ることとなる。2011 年にシングル「六等星の夜」でメジャ ーデビュー。
代表曲「蝶々結び」などを収録した 4th アルバム「daydream」を 2016 年 9 月にリリースし、各種配信チャート 1 位を獲得し、CD ショップ大賞 2017 準大賞も受賞。2019 年には 16 枚目のシングル「I beg you / 花びらたちのマーチ / Sailing」をリリースし、自身初のオリコン週間シングルランキング初登場 1 位を記録する。
2022 年にはテレビアニメ「鬼滅の刃」遊郭編オープニングテーマ・エンディングテーマ「残響散歌/朝が来る」をリリースし、Billboard JAPAN “JAPAN HOT 100”にて Billboard JAPAN 史上最高記録となる 7 週連続の 1 位を記録。
2022年10月より、アリーナツアー「Aimer 10th Anniversary Final "Cycle de 10 ans"」開催決定。

A female singer of a deep husky voice that can never be unheard, Aimer made her major debut in 2011 with the single “Rokutousei no Yoru”. Her fourth album daydream, released in September 2016 and features her signature track “Cho-Cho Musubi”, achieved #1 on iTunes’ album chart. In April 2021 she released her sixth studio album Walpurgis that marked her first triple #1s on Billboard Japan’s Hot Albums, Download Albums, and Top Album Sales charts, drawing even more popularity.
