I understand and agree with why Gilbert left, because it's utterly inappropriate for him to stay in her life when she's so much younger than him and doesn't know how to be independent outside of him. But Claudia keeping it from her when he can directly see how much pain it's causing is different.

自分的には少佐とヴァイオレットは親と子供ような存在で少佐との恋愛というのは少し違う気がするから、少佐とは会えなくても誰か別の人と恋をして愛の意味を知っていくという人生も見たかった(あくまで個人的な意見です、長文すみません)
