Right temperament and sonority for f minor ballade! She took good care of the details, held back in some passages to make the climax quite convincing! Good use of rubato, quite natural. The overall balance is good without losing the structure. Love the seriousness for making the music! So far 2 Japanese candidates shine in the 1st round, looking for more nice Chopin souls 🎉

IMO the Recent recordings (not Performances) They have lowered their quality a lot compared to 2021 and now their sound sounds a bit metallic and beaten, unless it is clearly the Kawai piano.
