She was stunning! Brilliant solo performance and than an incredible cooperation with orchestra inspite of only one-hour rehersal, they were just like one organ. You can see how they enjoy playing together and understand each other. I love the way she performs - she has that innocent pure joy, no stress, just having a real pleasure but also an honour to play here at this contest. She said she didn't even expect to be in finals! The audience was captivated by her charm and talent. Such an ovation was totally understandable, I would scream myself If I were there. I was crying at home listening to this instead. Tianyao - you're my WINNER.

Una de las revelaciones más sorprendentes para mí en años, musicalidad y sensibilidad, matices, tiempos exactos para cada obra, tranquilidad y genialidad musical y su técnica maravillosa todo junto en una pianista.

35:06 <-- Tak dokładnie, starannie i wyraźnie zagranych "tryli" w lewej ręce nie słyszałem nigdy w życiu - a przesłuchałem dziesiątki wykonań koncertu e-moll. W zasadzie teraz dopiero słychać, że to nie są tryle tylko szybkie ozdobniki. Chinka odkryła we mnie nowego Chopina, nie tylko zresztą w tym fragmencie. Op. 61 zagrane przepięknie i bardzo dojrzale, z genialną wręcz kontrolą dynamiki brzmienia oraz wydobywaniem perełek z cienia. Jak dla mnie artystka TOP 5, przynajmniej!

Not that it will affect the judging but I think that is the most enthusiastic applause I think I have heard at this Competiton (at least since I started watching them 20 years ago). She is one of the best pianists I have ever heard and already one of my favorites. She brings joy and melody back to Chopin, and he sense of rhythm is unparalled. Totally different touch but she reminds me a lot of Richter in terms of tempo timing and finding the heart of the music. Her Presto a round ago was the best I have ever heard. But this concerto, wow. Easily the best I have ever heard. Instead of feeling like a soloist in a concerto she felt completely in sync with the orchestra. It was stunning to hear. I had heard some expected her to struggle with the Concerto but it was her strongest performance. my life is better having heard her. I quite disliked some of the others, she was miles ahead of the rest. Just one man's opinion.

I usually don’t play or listen to Concerto No. 1, since I’ve never really felt connected to it. But this performance, probably the first time I’ve truly listened to it, was captivating from start to finish. I heard so many details and notes I’d never noticed before, lol, thanks to her incredible balance. It’s also amazing how she produces such a big sound with genuine depth and maturity. So far, she’s the best.

She is in another dimension to me. It’s not just about skills and oh how deep the emotion she showed and how well she interpreted Chopin. It reminds us why we listen to music and what we seek in listening to music: the love and joy.

... Jestem pod wielkim wrażeniem ! Piękna, szlachetna gra, artykulacja oraz dynamika na najwyższym poziomie ! Ogromna czułość, ogromna wrażliwość ... Każdy dźwięk wybrzmiewa oddzielnie niczym drogocenna perła, każdy dźwięk jest zrozumiały, odgrywa ważną rolę ... Nic w tej grze, w tej interpretacji nie dzieje się przypadkowo, jest to wielka, monumentalna, spójna całość ! Wielka liryka, wielki talent, WIELKA ARTYSTKA❤ ❤❤! ... Jak miło jest doświadczyć i usłyszeć Chopina w jej wykonaniu ! ... CHOPIN PEŁEN POEZJI, CHOPIN GENIALNY ... NASZ CHOPIN !!! Dziękuję za to wyjątkowe wydarzenie !

What makes Tianyao’s performance so powerful and compelling, both here and throughout the competition, is that it is never contrived. Her alternative voicings, rubato, pacing, use of silence, and the subtle transitions of inner character between pieces and movements never feel artificial or forced. Every gesture has an origin, a context, a reason. For instance, in her mazurkas, she highlights the tenor voice not to be different or intriguing, but to ensure it engages meaningfully with the main melody. Her philosophy, it seems to me, is REVELATION not REINVENTION. That is to say, she is not trying to rewrite what Chopin intended. Instead, she is casting a new light and a new soul on Chopin’s score from within, unlike many others who impose something from outside.

Tianyao jest przecudowna. Od razu zwróciła moją uwagę, a to rzadko się zdarza. Naprawdę mało który pianista potrafi chwycić mnie za serce już od pierwszych zagranych nut. Jej gra jest hipnotyzująca.
Tegoroczny konkurs jest niesamowicie wyrównany, ale będę teraz przez te kilka dni finałów trzymać mocno kciuki (a niech mi nawet zdrętwieją!), by Tianyao została nagrodzona :)
