In the final round of the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship, Hideki Matsuyama watched his commanding lead fizzle out on his back-nine but was able to right the ship and secure his 10th PGA TOUR win with his even par round of 70

The first event of the 2024 FedExCup Playoffs starts this week as the PGA TOUR heads to Memphis, Tennessee for the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind. This is the first of three Playoffs events, as the top 70 will become 50 and then 30 at East Lake for the season finale. Scottie Scheffler returns after his dramatic come-from-behind win at Le Golf National to win Olympic gold. The American's gold medal is now paired with his six TOUR titles this season. The world No. 1 has never made the top-10 in his two starts in the Playoffs at TPC Southwind. Rory McIlroy also makes another run at the PGA TOUR’s biggest prize. McIlroy has two wins this season which came back-to-back at the Wells Fargo Championship and Zurich Classic. He’s also claimed three top-5s in his last four events, including a fifth place finish at the Olympics. Xander Schauffele also tees it up in Tennessee this week. The two-time major winner looks to go one better than his solo second finish in the Playoffs last year. He claimed T24 at the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship. Others to look out for are Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Åberg, Tommy Fleetwood and Viktor Hovland.

Hideki cans the long birdie putt on 17 to regain the lead, pipes the long dangerous drive on 18 and then nukes the approach shot over the water to 6 ft from the hole for the win all without even a hint of a smile, "pretty stoic"! That was some serious grown man golf, congrats to Hideki.

That approach shot on the 18th was mind-blowing, & the camera tracking really showed it. The ball skirted the water twice before landing within 5 ft of the hole. What an absolutely amazing tournament this was!

Calling it how I saw it. Hideki wasn’t their “ideal PGA guy” so they tried to rattle him and did a good job of it. Glad he gathered himself together and won at the end. Hats off to Hideki. Poor officiating for the referee’s. They suck this time.

最終日のハーフターンもボギーフリー
誰もがぶっちぎりの優勝と思ったら4ホールで4ダウン
一時ホブランにトップを譲って2位タイに
そこから顔色ひとつ変えずに17番でロングパットをネジ込んで初めて魂のガッツポーズ
18番皆が池にびびって右ラフやバンカーに捕まる中　果敢にフェアウェイ左サイドへ
セカンドも池も気にせずセンターから軽いドローでライン出しでピン横につけてバーディーフィニッシュ😂
英樹の鬼気迫る凄いゴルフを魅せてもらって　感無量👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
