Thank you millions of times for this gesture that once again highlights your greatness. By this, her voice truly became the voice that travels wherever you go. Needless to say, that it is your voice that travels with us wherever we go. At least, this is certainly true for me.
While Sarah’s voice melodized the theme, it was your whole upper body that told the story with all emotions and perspectives a human being is capable to feel and to express.
The movements of the upper body nuance and branch the story. Left and right arm movements, head and the shoulders highlight completely different aspects and convey different points of view in the story. In narratology, we would say you employed multiple narrators or narrating voices. Since one protagonist captures all voices in one body, to me your body is a polyphonic organ!
Your right arm sees and tells something different than your left arm, the head mediates and transcends, and the shoulders hold the tension of this multi-perspective narration. This is really fascinating!
While the upper body is completely absorbed in the story, your footwork (among others) communicates with the audience by balancing closeness and distance. The close shots were so impressive (rolling through your spread legs! Yes, why not!) that even the distant shots did not cause emotional distancing, which they usually do. So, I could sense emotional closeness even with distant shots.
In order to match the voice of Sarah, the melody of the song, the fluidity between dream, vision and materialized world, you used editing techniques that soften the transitions; fading in and out or rather fading through white transitions. The fluid ink transitions (brushing paint), together with some spins effectively visualize the very high and crystal-clear soprano notes, which to me symbolize the beauty that resists to be limited by materialized realities. Ours dreams, inner motions or visions that make us strive for the ideal self and the ideal togetherness are probably the most vital reality we have, and the only power that can change existing realities for the better.
